IFIC Bank has awarded research grants and scholarships to students of the University of Dhaka as part of its initiative to promote academic research and support meritorious students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
The awards were presented at the “IFIC Bank Trust Fund Research Grant and Scholarship Award Ceremony 2026,” held on Monday, 28 September 2026, at the Conference Hall of Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, University of Dhaka.
The programme was chaired by Professor M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, PhD, Treasurer of the University of Dhaka and Chairman of the IFIC Bank Trust Fund.
Among those present were Mr. Md. Monitur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Information Officer of IFIC Bank; Mr. Helal Ahmed, Chief of Branch Business; Mr. Mohammad Shahin Uddin, Head of Treasury; Professor Dr. Saifuddin Md. Tareeq, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Dhaka; and Professor Al Amin, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies. Senior officials from both institutions, along with faculty members, students and guardians, also attended the event. Mr. Munsi Shams Uddin Ahmed, Acting Registrar of the University of Dhaka, conducted the programme.
During the ceremony, research grants were awarded to 50 students and scholarships were awarded to 30 students from the 2022–23 and 2023–24 academic sessions.
Established in 2012, the IFIC Bank Trust Fund supports students of the University of Dhaka through research grants and scholarships. To date, more than 450 students from different faculties have benefited from the initiative.
