With the aim of providing the future generation with basic knowledge of banking, cultivating a habit of saving, and offering insights into financial management, IFIC Bank has organized a special workshop on financial literacy in Sylhet under the guidance of Bangladesh Bank, as part of the "Festival of Youth 2025." The workshop held today on November 4, 2025, in collaboration with Sylhet Government Women’s College, at the college’s auditorium.
The event was chaired by the Principal of Sylhet Government Women’s College, Professor Bhubanjoy Acharjee. The Chief Guest was Mr. Khaled Ahmed, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank’s Sylhet Office. Special guests included Mr. Shamsul Islam, Vice-Principal of Sylhet Government Women’s College, and Mr. Khandakar Anwar Ehtesham, Head of Branding, Communications & Corporate Affairs at IFIC Bank.
The workshop, attended by over 200 students, featured Ms. Fariha Haider, Head of Centralized Retail Marketing at IFIC Bank, as the resource person. She provided detailed insights on enhancing professional skills, managing personal finances effectively, and tackling the technological challenges of the future.
It is worth highlighting that IFIC Bank has been proactively conducting comprehensive financial literacy programs year-round, reaching both urban and rural communities, and extending its efforts to a wide range of educational institutions. These initiatives are designed not only to empower individuals with essential financial knowledge but also to foster a culture of responsible financial management across diverse demographic groups.
