IFIC Bank PLC organized a day-long “Branch Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (BAMLCO) Conference 2026” at its head office on Saturday, 25 July 2026. The conference aimed to enhance the knowledge, awareness and professional capabilities of the bank’s relevant officials regarding Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT).
Mr. Syed Mansur Mustafa, Managing Director of IFIC Bank PLC, inaugurated the conference. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of properly complying with the directives of Bangladesh Bank and the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) in preventing money laundering and terrorist financing. He also called for strengthening risk-based supervision, effective customer due diligence and compliance activities at the bank’s branch and sub-branch levels.
Mr. Md. Monitur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (CAMLCO) of IFIC Bank, attended the program as the special guest.
Also present were Mr. Helal Ahmed, Chief of Branch Business and Head of Operations; Mr. Abul Kashem Md Fazlul Kader, Head of Service and Estate; Mr. Md. Abdullah Al Masum, Head of Correspondent Banking, Joint Venture Operations and Remittance Department; and Mr. A.B.M. Mohsin Kamal Molla, Deputy CAMLCO and Head of AML and CFT, along with other senior officials from the bank’s head office. BAMLCOs from different branches of the bank also participated in the conference.
The day-long conference featured detailed discussions on the prevailing laws and regulations related to the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing, directives issued by Bangladesh Bank and BFIU, identification and reporting of suspicious transactions, risk-based Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence (CDD/EDD), transaction monitoring, and various measures to strengthen AML/CFT compliance at the branch level.
IFIC Bank believes that such regular training programs, conferences and awareness-building initiatives will further strengthen the bank’s AML/CFT compliance framework and play an important role in enhancing the skills and capabilities of relevant officials in preventing financial crimes.
