Financial Literacy Day was celebrated simultaneously in 1243 branches of IFIC Bank on 6th March, 2023. This year’s Financial Literacy Day’s concept was to increase social awareness among people to send remittances through legal channels.
To observe the day, a special seminar was organized to create public awareness in all branches-uposhakhas of IFIC Bank. Officials of IFIC at branches and uposhakhas, highlighted the positive aspects of sending remittances through legal channels besides, they provided knowledge about financial matters and services to their customers.
The aim of observing the day is to expand the border of financial inclusion by awaring the backward sections of society, farmers, garment workers, and especially rural women about financial services. According to the Financial Literacy Guidelines of Bangladesh Bank, from now, every year Financial Literacy Day will be observed on the first Monday of March. As a part of financial literacy program, IFIC Bank has conducted various activities including distribution of leaflets on sending remittance through legal channels among about 1 lakh people across the country.
